PROGRAM Information

THANK YOU for your continued support, generosity and kindness towards local deserving families that need a helping hand this holiday season.

For the 51st year, the Spruce Grove Kinette volunteers are working to make Christmas brighter for local families struggling with a limited income. Our goal is to support families in need with food and gifts for the holidays. Last year, with your help, we assisted 710 families in our area, and supported close to 2000 residents!

Planning for the 2024 season is well underway. This year's program will be running with the same changes we had in place the previous years:

• The Parkland Food Bank will be administering the distribution of the food portion of the Christmas Hampers, in the form of an ‘upsized’ December hamper for all clients. The Kinettes will not collect and distribute non-perishable food, but will support the Parkland Food Bank with gift cards for food to contribute to the upsized December hamper.
• The gift portion of the Christmas Hamper program will be run completely separate from the food. The Kinettes will collect and distribute gifts and gift cards to children 17 and under. Last year, we provided gifts to 842 children in our area!
• In light of the changes these past few years, we encourage gift cards and monetary donations.

We rely on our community and surrounding area to donate to this important, local cause. We are a 100% volunteer-based non-profit group, and can only assist those in need in our community with your help. Our primary goal is to have donations meet the need in our area at Christmas. 

YOU CAN HELP us reach our goals and support your community at Christmas by DONATING:

1. Monetary donations or local grocery store gift cards will go towards a family’s ‘upsized’ December food hamper.
2. Gift cards or new, unwrapped gifts for children 17 and under (local gift cards are ideal for ages 10+).

HOW TO DONATE:

• Donations can be brought to us in a check-in and drive-thru fashion at the Spruce Grove Alliance Church (250 Century Road):
  
  
  • Monday, December 9th through Friday, December 13th, from 4pm-8pm
  • Monday, December 16th, from 9am-6pm
• Donate at advertised collection locations around Spruce Grove 
• Cheques can be mailed, or can be picked up by one of our volunteers
