Over the years, the schools in Spruce Grove and surrounding areas have provided outstanding support to the local Christmas Hamper Program. For the 46th year, the local Kinette volunteers are working to make Christmas brighter for local families struggling with a limited income. Our goal is to support families in need with food and gifts for the holidays and last year, with your help, we assisted 615 families in our area!
This is a HUGE undertaking; we an only achieve this goal by relying on the kindness and generosity of our entire community and surrounding area. We are asking all schools to support local families by providing non-perishable food items, gift cards and unwrapped gifts for children. We will provide your school with information to go home with the students outlining these hamper goals.
As in the past couple of years, we are targeting specific ages and genders for gifts; for instance, a child in grade 5 could donate to their age and gender. In addition, in order to meet our objectives more effectively, we are kindly asking that if at all possible, food items be sorted by type in boxes when it arrives to the church. With limited time to get hampers assembled and distributed, and because of the huge volume that we’re dealing with, this would be an enormous help to us!
We ask that the schools deliver the items to the Spruce Grove Alliance Church gymnasium (250 Century Road) in the morning on Monday, December 9th, 2019 so we can begin the huge task of sorting and assembling the Christmas Hampers.
Thank you for your continued support of this program and of your community at Christmas. Best wishes to the staff and students at your school; have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
